Here at Anderson's we have many teammates and guests who have been affected by many cancers including Breast Cancer. We know first hand how debilitating and difficult the journey can be. It is our goal during our "SHAKE IT UP FOR BREAST CANCER EVENT" to give and create smiles for two local cancer support groups. From October 1-15, we will donate 1.00 from EVERY SHAKE PURCHASED, to Hope Chest and For Our Daughters. You can also try our "THINK PINK SHAKE" which is a Cinnamon Shake with Oreos and a touch of Whipped Cream & Support for Breast Cancer. We appreciate the support of our guests and teammates for this fundraising effort during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

For Our Daughters, Inc. was founded in 2012 after the founder, Mercedes Wilson, was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer at the young age of 28.

It was at this time that Mercedes learned just how much she didn't know about her own family history. It was through this ordeal that For Our Daughters, Inc. was birthed!

The aim of For Our Daughters is to assist young women between the ages of 11-19 with living longer, healthier lives by taking the reigns on their own health. We believe that every young woman should know her family history and be proactive in speaking up when something isn*t quite right with her body. This is accomplished by going into both middle and high schools all over western New York, spending time with young women in an effort to show them how to open up dialogue with the loved ones in their lives. We talk about not only the importance of learning ones own family history, but also to become comfortable talking about their own health. This year alone they have reached over 2000 young women!

For Our Daughters, Inc. is aiming to play a large part in seeing young women all over WNY live long, healthy lives.

The organization also hosts a Gala each year and donates FREE tickets to survivors!

Hope Chest Buffalo was created as a result of a friendship and a shared interest in exercise. The founder and her close friend Nina both aspired to become personal trainers. Despite a diagnosis of breast cancer, Nina continued to exercise whenever possible and was determined to make a difference in the lives of breast cancer survivors. Together they created a wellness program for breast cancer survivors in January 2000 ... Hope Chest!

The goal of the organization is to provide a positive support group for Breast Cancer survivors. We offer a unique paddling program along with a distinct health and fitness program for breast cancer survivors of all ages and fitness levels. Our purpose is to inspire Breast Cancer patients and survivors in any stage of treatment or recovery to become, or to continue, to lead active and fulfilling lives through our unique physical fitness program which also promotes emotional healing.

Today survivors of Hope Chest regularly gather for exercise, dragon boat racing, support & friendship!
